Week 7 – Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos (TNF) (Leigh)

By the time week seven rolls around, the Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated and all Chiefs Kingdom is thinking about is the Super Bowl.

Not so fast, my friends.

No, the Denver Broncos probably aren’t going to be very good this year. They have an aging Joe Flacco as their quarterback and the guy they got to replace him with recently landed on the injured reserve, so there goes that plan.

What Denver does have, however, is a defensive-minded head coach who now gets to takeover a team with a very good defense. Defense is how the Broncos won their Super Bowl a few years ago and it’ll be the only hope they really have at getting to the playoffs in 2019 and beyond (at least until Drew Lock is ready).

To make matters worse for the Chiefs, this game is on the road, on Thursday Night Football, and quite frankly, they’ll be due for a loss by this point of the season. The Broncos have also been swept by the Chiefs in each of the last three seasons, so a win for them against Kansas City is on the horizon, as much as we hate to think about it.

The homer in me would love to pick the Chiefs to roll over the Donkeys in Denver, but it’s become very obvious that the visiting team for Thursday Night Football is at a huge disadvantage.

This should be a close game, but ultimately, it’s time for the Chiefs to make an appearance in the loss column.

PREDICTION: The winning streak was fun while it lasted, but playing on the road for Thursday Night Football is no easy feat and has been something Kansas City has struggled with during the Andy Reid era.

Broncos 24, Chiefs 21

STANDOUT PLAYER: Welcome to the pros, Darwin Thompson! The rookie running back keeps the Chiefs in this game in a night where they mostly struggle on offense. He finishes the night rushing for 100+ yards and a touchdown.

RECORD: 6-1
