Week 1 – Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars (Kole)

This game is one that many experts are predicting that could turn into an upset. Among the reasons are humid temperatures in Jacksonville, the resurgence of the Jaguars defense, and the addition of quarterback Nick Foles stabilizing the team. What they aren’t considering, however, is Andy Reid is 5-1 in week one contests since joining the Chiefs in 2013.

The Jaguars had quite the decline in 2018 after making the AFC Championship Game in the 2017 season and nearly knocking off the Patriots to advance to the Super Bowl. They weren’t even close to building on that special season this past year, but with a new quarterback in town and a defense that could mirror the one they had two seasons ago, don’t expect the Jags to just sit back and let the Chiefs coast in this one.

This game should mirror the week one game the Chiefs had in 2018, where they defeated the Chargers by a score of 38-28. That game was also a hot and humid road game. Expect the Chiefs to score in spurts, but to keep the lead and hold off the Jags enough to secure a victory.

PREDICTION: The Jags will keep it close at times, but will ultimately fall to the Chiefs by a score of 31-21.

Standout Player: The Patriots showed the blueprint to stop Tyreek Hill, which is using a safety and running bracket coverage. Not exclusively single man coverage. Expect Hill to have a big day, showing he is more than a return specialist.

RECORD: 1-0
