Week 17 – Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers (Leigh)

Well, well, well, it all comes down to this; the hated

San Diego

Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium in the final week of the season. If this year is anything like last season, the AFC West title could be on the line as well as the number one seed in the AFC playoffs.

Last season saw the Chiefs and Chargers both finish with 12-4 records, but Kansas City played the tougher schedule, beat better teams, and ultimately won the tiebreaker to earn that top spot in the playoffs. That has to motivate the Chargers heading into 2019, but at the same time, they’re the Chargers. Injuries and bad luck have defined this franchise for decades now.

As mentioned on the intro slide of the article, we predicted these games not taking anything we don’t know into account. That means we’re going into this game assuming that nothing has been locked up and both teams are playing their starters as if the season is on the line.

If that’s the case, even with the Chargers being as talented as they are, it seems tough to pick against the Chiefs in their final home game of the regular season. The crowd is going to show up in masses to cheer on the good guys and with a potential top seed in the playoffs on the line, that Sea of Red is going to be deadly.

PREDICTION: The Chiefs will break away late in the game after a close battle in the first three quarters. They end their regular season with a 35-24 victory against the Chargers.

STANDOUT PLAYER: Tyrann Mathieu has an interception that becomes the momentum swing for the Chiefs, who go on to score two touchdowns and ice the game as a result.

FINAL RECORD: 12-4
