Week 16 – Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears (SNF) (Matthew)

For the week 16 match-up, Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs travel to Soldier Field to take on former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears on primetime football; a week 16 match-up that will be a top seeding factor for either team heading into the
postseason.

This game is going to be exciting to watch for all NFL fans. The Mitchell Trubisky vs Patrick Mahomes battle will be the big story line coming into this game, as it’s the 2017 NFL Draft second overall pick versus the 2017 tenth overall pick.

The Chicago Bears offense is loaded with weapons, and game planning is going to be essential for the Chiefs to come out with a victory. The Bears wide receiving corp is one that can give any opposing defense fits. Players like Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller are two speedy guys on the outside that will need to be played close. The guy that may give Chiefs the most fits is rookie running back David Montgomery, who is looking like a potential star already.

Across the line of scrimmage is a very stout defense that will be giving the Chiefs high-powered
offense everything they want, but the biggest challenge will be keeping Mahomes’ jersey
clean. The Bears defensive front is loaded with pass rushing playmakers lead by Khalil Mack. Moving down the line from him are guys like Danny Trevathan, Roquan Smith, and Leonard
Floyd.

PREDICTION: A late season primetime match-up doesn’t get to Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, but the defense slips up more than enough to allow Chicago to come out victorious. It’s a battle all the way into the fourth quarter, but the Chiefs come out just short.

Kansas City Chiefs 24, Chicago Bears 30

STANDOUT PLAYER: Juan Thornhill comes away with an interception and leads the team in pass deflections in this Sunday night match-up.

RECORD: 11-4
