Kansas City Chiefs: Getting to know Jacksonville Jaguars before week 1

Last year, the Chiefs and Jaguars faced one another in Week 5. At that time, Kansas City was 4-0 while Jacksonville sat at 3-1. Needless to say, after this game, a 30-14 win for the Chiefs, these organizations went in drastically different directions for the remainder of the season.

For Jacksonville, the loss was the first of seven in a row and ten in 12 games as the season, and hope of building off a successful 2017, quickly imploded.

This year, with the signing of Foles and question marks surrounding the other three AFC South teams, the Jaguars have a chance at returning to the postseason. “They can win the division if the offense is fluid,” Levin said. “The running game must re-establish itself. The pass rush must approach 50 sacks and injuries must remain at a minimum.

To win the division in 2019, the Jaguars will have to dig themselves out of an early hole, though, as Levin predicts the Chiefs to win on Sunday in a nail-biter.

This is a close game,” he said, “but the Jaguars fall at home in the opener 24-23. This team still needs to work on continuity in several phases. I personally believe the Jaguars are still a work in progress.
