Bold predictions are meant to be farfetched.

Do I think the Chiefs defense is going to step on the field Week One and just dominate?

No.

With this many new pieces and moving parts, it will take some time to gel as a unit. This defense should get stronger as the season progresses, and that is not even accounting for the fact Brett Veach may not be done adding talent to that side of the football.

Am I certain the Chiefs will be a Top Ten defense?

No.

There are a lot of variables that will play into that happening. I do know that the Chiefs will field a better defense overall next year though. There was too much talent infused on that side of the ball for the defense to take a step back.

Look for Kansas City to surprise a lot of people next year, and watch them creep slowly up the defensive rankings as the playoffs approach.
