MATT MOORE

The Kansas City Chiefs signed Matt Moore on Monday after it was announced that backup quarterback Chad Henne would be having surgery on his fractured ankle. Moore provides that of what Henne did; He’s an experienced veteran at the position and could help the Chiefs through a couple of games if need be.

Fans should be watching Moore on Thursday to see how he looks. Moore, who hasn’t thrown a pass since the 2017 season, probably won’t have time to get the entire playbook down, but as long as he goes out there and doesn’t look like a disaster, that’s a decent sign for Chiefs fans.

CARLOS HYDE

Carlos Hyde is appearing on this list for the second straight week because – Well, quite frankly, a lot of fans are doubting he even makes the team. It wouldn’t be shocking, as Hyde hasn’t looked great this summer. He’s totaled just 26 yards on eight carries through three games so far. Not exactly stellar numbers.

If Hyde doesn’t have a big play (or plays, if we’re being perfectly honest here) of some sort, he very well could be cut.

TREMON SMITH

When the latest depth chart was released, Tremon Smith was listed as the kick returner on special teams. This came as a surprise to some, as Smith hadn’t really showed much this preseason and was actually moved from his drafted position of cornerback to a stacked position of running back. He hasn’t done much since that move.

Smith might not be on the chopping block as much as we all thought, but he’s still someone to be watching for on Thursday.
