FANTASY FOOTBALL DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019

10. Alexander Mattison, RB Minnesota Vikings

Dalvin Cook‘s injury history has been well documented. Cook has played in less than half of his potential games since entering the league two years ago. We have seen guys like Latavius Murray capitalize on Cook’s injuries over the past couple of years.

This year Alexander Mattison seems to be the guy in line for these opportunities. Last year even when healthy Cook only got 12 carries per game on average while Murray would oftentimes get nine-plus touches as well. So Mattison should hold some value even if Cook is healthy but if he goes down with an injury Mattison would have top-15 running back potential.

Handcuffs are often a popular use of late-round picks to stash in case of injury. This year like the last two years, Cooks primary backup is one of the best handcuffs in the league to own because of Cook’s injury history. With an ADP of 153.7, Mattison should be a player to target in the late rounds.
