FANTASY FOOTBALL DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019

15. Lamar Jackson, QB Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson is extremely underrated this year in fantasy football. With Jackson, you’re basically getting a wildcat running back who will pass it 20 plus times per game. There is the risk of his style of play not being successful after teams have time to scout him out, but deep sleepers aren’t going to be risk-free picks.

Not only is Jackson a wildcat running back disguised as a quarterback, but he is an elite level running back. Jackson averaged 17 carries per game last season in his seven starts. That 17 carries per game would be good for the fourth-ranked running back in attempts per game.

Also in his seven starts, he was able to amass 5.4 yards per carry which would’ve tied for third amongst starting running backs last season. If extrapolated across a 16 game span, his 17 attempts per game and 5.4 yards per carry would equal 1469 yards rushing which is more than Ezekiel Elliot’s total from last year who led the league in rush yards.

All of this is before we even get to any passes. He probably isn’t going to rush for 1400 yards, but statistically speaking he could and just think if you had Elliot plus over 100 yards passing per game. Even if he only passes for 2500 yards on the season, he still is always going to have a pretty high floor and could make for an excellent deep sleeper in fantasy football this season.
