FANTASY FOOTBALL DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019
5. Willie Snead, WR Baltimore Ravens
This is the fourth Raven to make this list, so you’re probably thinking how many fantasy options can there be in the Ravens offense? This is it I promise. No more Ravens after Willie Snead. But the reason Snead makes it on this list is, somebody is going to have to catch passes in that offense.
This offense is a complete wild card this year. We don’t know how much they will pass or shoot they may never pass this season, but even in a very heavy run-first offense. There still has to be one or two pass catchers who are fantasy options.
Currently, Marquise Brown is ranked as the highest fantasy wide receiver in Baltimore with an ADP of 163.5. Brown may be more talented than Snead, but he is a rookie coming off of an injury and I don’t think his vertical threat strength fits well with Lamar Jackson. Jackson’s accuracy has been one of his biggest concerns, so the short passes are likely to be more successful for him than throwing it deep over the top to Brown.
That is where Snead comes in. First of all, he has more experience than Brown and has had fantasy-relevant seasons in the past. Secondly, a lot of Snead’s success comes from playing in the slot. His strength in the slot will match better with Jackson’s strengths and weaknesses and will likely lead to him being the number one wide receiver in Baltimore at the uber low ADP of 294.
In other words, he isn’t getting drafted. Take him with your last pick or snatch him off the waiver wire. A sleeper that you can get that deep in drafts with the chance to be his team’s leading receiver is definitely worth taking a shot on.
