CODY THOMPSON

Last, but not least, we have Cody Thompson, who has been one of my favorites throughout training camp and the preseason. Thompson has made a strong case for making the 53-man roster, but with De’Anthony Thomas back in Kansas City now, that could be a bit tougher of a task.

So far, Thompson has had nine grabs for 88 yards between two games. He led the Chiefs in receiving yards this past week and it’ll be as important as ever for the Toledo product to stand out against the 49ers.

With all of the receivers on the Chiefs roster, Thompson has his work cut out for him, but if he continues to perform as well as he has the past two weeks, he has a pretty good shot.

CONCLUSION

We’re halfway through preseason and the Kansas City Chiefs have some tough decisions to make. Hopefully some players step up in week three against San Francisco, but keep an eye on these six players as some will continue proving they’re worthy of a roster spot while others will just hope to stay relevant.
