FANTASY FOOTBALL WIDE RECEIVERS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 18 – JULIAN EDELMAN

2018 Standard Scoring: 23rd (133.4)

2018 PPR Scoring: 20th (207.4)

Julian Edelman is a great route runner and has a decent quarterback throwing to him so that usually leads to good fantasy production.

Tom Brady doesn’t put up fantasy numbers like he once could, but he is still considered by most as the GOAT. If you can get separation, Brady is going to get you the ball and Edelman is usually pretty good at creating plenty separation for Brady by excellent route running.

With Rob Gronkowski now retired that leaves Edelman to assume the duties of Brady’s primary target (if Gronkowski stays retired anyways). The ginormous hole left in the offense without Gronkowski should mostly be filled by Edelman and could lead to an increase in fantasy production.

One thing to be wary about however is age. Edelman is 33 and Brady turns 42 in August. If either or both start to hit a decline this year, you could be in trouble.

But despite the age concern, there is a lot of upside with this pick. If you can get Edelman in the fourth round he could be a great option for your wide receiver two spot as the GOAT’s primary target next year.
