FANTASY FOOTBALL WIDE RECEIVERS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 3 – TYREEK HILL

2018 Standard Scoring: 1st (241.0)

2018 PPR Scoring: 3rd (328.0)

Tyreek Hill is the best receiver on the best offense in football with the best quarterback in the league throwing to him (kind of similar to what was mentioned with Michael Thomas above except with a heavy emphasis on the “the” in “the best offense” and “the best quarterback”).

In addition, Hill also just happens to be the fastest player in football. This combination screams fantasy success.

The success that Hill had last season is best displayed in standard league point totals. Take a look at how many points Hill scored in standard leagues and remember it for comparison purposes with the next two guys.

Spoiler: He outscored them by a relatively large margin.

Hill does have quite the target competition in Kansas City, which is partially why he is ranked at third instead of first or second. This also explains why he finished first in standard leagues, but third in PPR leagues. Hill may average more yards per catch than the top two guys on this list but will concede some receptions to guys like Sammy Watkins and Travis Kelce.

Still, you have to come back to how lethal of a combination Hill and Patrick Mahomes are. The two connected for 12 touchdowns last season – the third-most among receivers, Hill racked up almost 1,500 yards receiving – good for top four in the league, and he led the league in 20 plus and 40 plus yard receptions.

Yes, there are minor concerns of target competition, but this offense also totaled at more than 5000 yards and 50 touchdowns through the air last season. There should be plenty of footballs to go around, so if this is a concern to you, it should be a pretty minor one.

Hill’s average draft position is still slowly climbing, so if you’re doing a mock draft online and he is available past the first round, don’t expect this to happen in your actual fantasy draft. If you want Hill, you’re going to have to pay a first-round price tag to get him and you will probably be happy that you did.
