FANTASY FOOTBALL WIDE RECEIVERS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 8 – MIKE EVANS

2018 Standard Scoring: 6th (198.4)

2018 PPR Scoring: 9th (284.4)

Consistency was mentioned earlier in this list with Brandin Cooks, and Mike Evans is probably even more consistent than Cooks. Evans has been in the league for five seasons and has 1,000+ yards receiving in all five of those seasons and has played in at least 15 games in each of those seasons.

One thing that hasn’t been consistent for Evans was his quarterback.

Last season it was Ryan Fitzpatrick, then Jameis Winston, then it was Fitzpatrick again, then back to Winston again. It was all over the place and yet Evans kept his consistent production. This year, a full season with Jameis Winston could be better for him than the inconsistent, frequent quarterback changes that he played through last year.

One other interesting piece about the Buccaneers is that they had the second most 300-yard passing games of any team in the league, behind only the Chiefs who were led by the MVP, Patrick Mahomes.

Of course, this was split between two quarterbacks (Winston had five out of the nine), but still impressive. This is a nice thing to see if you were thinking about drafting Evans. The offense could get even get better as well with the addition of Bruce Arians.

Evans will probably go in the second round of most fantasy drafts and is a pretty safe bet for a top ten finish. Some consistency at quarterback could propel him up even higher in the rankings too so Evans could end up being an excellent round two selection.
