Kansas City Chiefs: Predicting which wide receivers make 2019 roster
By Chris Clark
Felton Davis
Felton Davis enters his first season in the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs. The former Michigan State receiver had a decent junior year with 776 yards receiving and nine touchdowns.
Unfortunately, for him, his senior season was cut short by an Achilles injury, which may have lowered his stock as he headed for the NFL. Davis has been quiet this preseason, only registering one catch for seven yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kansas City may try to hide the lengthy receiver on the practice squad to get a longer look at his potential.
Jamal Custis
Jamal Custis is an intriguing prospect that Kansas City signed to a guaranteed $100,000 contract. That’s a large amount of money for any undrafted free agent, let alone one that is this far down the depth chart.
While Custis is a big receiver (6’5″, 213 pounds), he seems to be buried on the depth chart thus far in the preseason. Through two preseason games, he only has one catch for 14 yards. With such a big UDFA contract and the potential to develop, Custis may be a great candidate to hide on the practice squad.
