On the outside looking in…

Gehrig Dieter

Gehrig Dieter seems to be a fan favorite, but unfortunately, doesn’t have a lot to show for it heading into his third season with the Chiefs.

Dieter only played in four games during the 2018 season, spending most of that time as a part of the practice squad. The hope that he’d advance past that status is in question, due to an undisclosed injury and a healthy Byron Pringle.

If he’s not pulled away by a receiver-needy team after cut downs, Dieter will hopefully find a place on the practice squad again to get healthy and be ready if needed.

Rashard Davis

After spending time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Oakland Raiders, Rashard Davis looks to earn a spot on the Chiefs’ roster. While Davis has a Super Bowl ring from his time with the Eagles, he hasn’t moved past the practice squad status through two seasons.

The 5’9″, 175 pound receiver fits the mold of a Tyreek Hill or Mecole Hardman type receiver, but likely won’t see any meaningful playing time beyond the preseason. There’s a chance that Kansas City tries to keep him on the practice squad, but he may be known enough around the league that he moves on to a receiver-needy team elsewhere.
