Kansas City Chiefs: Predicting which wide receivers make 2019 roster
By Chris Clark
Byron Pringle
The number five and six spots on the depth chart get a little more tricky. There are a number receivers here who have flashed the ability to elevate them higher than the practice squad status.
Bryon Pringle gets the nod here based more on potential, rather than what he’s done. Pringle did look good in the 2018 preseason before an injury placed him injured reserve for the season. As long as he stays healthy through this preseason, he’ll likely find a place on the active roster.
Cody Thompson
Cody Thompson is an undrafted free agent out of Toledo. Even though Thompson went undrafted, he had offers from several teams and yet, he chose Kansas City for the chance to be a part of an incredible offense. He has looked impressive through both offseason camps and has put together some consistent preseason games so far.
Thompson may be the underdog story that Chiefs Kingdom will appreciate in the coming weeks. Could he become the next Adam Thielen with Mahomes chucking him the pigskin?
