Locks (or near locks) to make the team

Tyreek Hill

The tumultuous offseason appears to be in the rearview mirror for one of the league’s top receiving talents. Tyreek Hill was not handed a suspension from the league and is ready for another big season.

After setting the Chiefs’ single-season receiving record with 1,479 yards, the blazing-fast receiver could have an even big year in 2019. The connection between Hill and Mahomes continues to be apparent through training camp and only serves to retain him as the best receiver on the team.

Sammy Watkins

It’s no secret that Sammy Watkins had an up and down season in 2018. Injuries continued to be an issue with the former first-round draft pick.

Thankfully, Mahomes continued to dominate even in the absence of Watkins, which is more of a testament to the quarterback as opposed to the receiver. When healthy, Watkins was certainly a factor and added another layer to what Andy Reid could do.

The best news for Watkins coming off this offseason is that he feels healthier than ever, which helps to maintain his spot as the number two receiver.
