FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 13 – NOAH FANT, TIGHT END (BRONCOS)

The only tight end to appear on this list is Noah Fant, who the Broncos took in the first round. Fant had to split time with fellow Hawkeye teammate T.J. Hockenson, who went to the Lions in the top ten of the draft, but Fant was more of the red zone threat in Iowa City.

Fant had 11 touchdowns in 2017 and seven trips to the end zone last year. The Denver Broncos need that kind of red zone production. They haven’t had a legitimate tight end since the Julius Thomas days and that’s been half a decade since he bolted for sunny Florida and flamed out years later.

Say what you will about Joe Flacco and what he has left in the tank, but he’ll love having a massive red zone target like his new tight end. Fant won’t be someone who’s going to consistently get your team a lot of points and he’s certainly not worth taking until the later rounds of the draft.

That being said, the Broncos haven’t had a true threat at tight end in several years and Fant might become one of the better talents at the tight end position in the coming years. He’s worth taking a flier on as a TE2.
