FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 7 – KYLER MURRAY, QUARTERBACK (CARDINALS)

The only quarterback to make my fantasy football rookies list is number one overall pick in this year’s draft, Kyler Murray.

Murray surged up the draft boards and eventually opted to play football rather than baseball. Must be nice excelling in two sports, right? I’ve never even excelled in one.

Anyway, Murray shouldn’t be drafted anywhere higher than the middle rounds and even that’s a stretch. We don’t know what kind of NFL quarterback he’ll be, but if he’s anything like he was in college, watch out, world!

Last year at Oklahoma saw Murray pass for 4,361 yards and an incredible 42 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He also rushed for 1,001 yards and added 12 scores with his legs. Hard to argue with why Murray ended up being the Heisman Trophy winner last year.

Murray’s ability to accurately pass the ball and make plays with his legs should make him a nice option to have in fantasy football. If you play in a league with two starting quarterbacks, Murray might be worth a middle round pick. If you’re in the traditional single quarterback league, drafting him as your backup isn’t a bad ploy.
