Ricky Seals-Jones (Arizona Cardinals), Tight End

Yes, the Chiefs have Travis Kelce, but behind him is going to be a guessing game for the rest of the season. The tight end depth for the Chiefs is as sparse as the cornerback position.

Ricky Seals-Jones was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2017. The former Texas A&M Aggie has now spent two seasons in the NFL. During that time he has played in 25 games logging over 40 receptions and 500 yards with four touchdowns.

While Seals-Jones doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that will wow you on the stat sheet, its experience and a complementary role that he could bring to Kansas City. As said with many other players in the past, but maybe all this guy needs is a change of scenery to bring out his untapped potential. There is also the Mahomes factor that comes into play as Seals-Jones has been paired with underwhelming quarterbacks to start his career.

Bringing in more competition to the tight end group will only boost the level of play between himself, Blake Bell, and Deon Yelder. With guys like Charles Clay and Maxx Williams ahead of him on the depth chart, Seals-Jones may only be a small price for Kansas City pay to acquire him. Also inside of a rebuilding franchise, Arizona may be looking for new faces or extra picks to bolster their roster.

A trade scenario for Ricky Seals-Jones may look like this:

Arizona Receives:

  • Late 2020 or 2021 Draft Pick or Equal Player

Chiefs Receive:

  • Ricky Seals-Jones
