FANTASY FOOTBALL RUNNING BACKS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 11 – CHRIS CARSON

Despite drafting Rashaad Penny in the first round in 2018, the Seahawks offense ended up relying on 2017 seventh-round draft pick Chris Carson for the bulk of last season. Carson outrushed Penny by 162 attempts and 732 yards for the 10-6 Seahawks. Carson also outscored Penny by seven total touchdowns, nine to two.

And so Seattle will again turn to the late-round drafted running back in 2019 as opposed to the highly-drafted one.

One area where Carson can improve is receiving. He only caught 20 passes from quarterback Russell Wilson last season, gaining a modest 163 yards. Those numbers ranked second for Seattle running backs behind Mike Davis, who caught 34 passes for 214 yards.

If Carson can take away some of those numbers, he’ll become even more of a commodity in Pete Carroll’s offense.
