Fantasy Football: Top 15 Running Backs to Target in 2019

FANTASY FOOTBALL RUNNING BACKS TO TARGET IN 2019
NUMBER 1 – EZEKIEL ELLIOTT
Ezekiel Elliott, the Dallas Cowboys, and their fans all dodged a bullet when Zeke recently avoided a suspension to start 2019. And as a result of avoiding that suspension, Ezekiel Elliott is the number one fantasy running back for 2019!
(At least according to this list.)
Elliott’s three-year career since being drafted fourth overall out of Ohio State has been rather fascinating. In both 2016 and 2018, he led the NFL in rushing attempts (322 and 304) and rushing yards (1,631 and 1,434).
In each of his three seasons, he’s led the league in rushing yards per game, and last year led the NFL in touches with 381. He topped 2,000 yards from scrimmage last season after just missing the mark his rookie season. Total, he’s rushed for 28 touchdowns and scored another six receiving touchdowns.
The one number from 2018 that needs to increase for Elliott is touchdowns scored. Last season, he rushed for just six rushing touchdowns, a career-low despite playing in five more games than he did in 2017. His rookie season, he scored a total of 16 touchdowns. Since, he hasn’t hit double-digits.
Trust those numbers to increase in 2019. The Cowboys return quarterback Dak Prescott and will also have wide receiver Amari Cooper from the start. While Elliott may not lead the team in targets and receptions like he did last season, the offense should become more explosive, allowing him to increase his touchdown numbers, and thus his overall fantasy score.
Due to that projection, Ezekiel Elliott is this year’s top fantasy running back, the top fantasy player, a true 1-1.
