Youth could be served at the bottom of the Kansas City Chiefs roster, perhaps sending veterans elsewhere.

The Chiefs are fans of some of their young receivers, including undrafted receivers Cody Thompson and Jamal Custis. Mecole Hardman and Juan Thornhill are young draft picks that appear ready to provide an impact for the Chiefs both this year and in years to come.

Armani Watts and Jordan Lucas can provide depth at safety and the Chiefs brought in multiple bodies and invested a bunch of money at defensive end this past offseason.

Who goes and who stays will be an interesting development to watch the rest of the preseason. Performances by young players could force the hands of the Chiefs.

With a team ready to compete for the division (potentially more) and a starting lineup that is appearing close to being set, the battle for the backup positions will be interesting and something to watch.
