KC Chiefs trending up and trending down after preseason week 1

Week one of the 2019 preseason is in the book for the KC Chiefs and it did not disappoint the Kingdom. We got an early look at the chemistry from our MVP quarterback (Patrick Mahomes) as well as the look of this rebuilt defense.

The Chiefs Kingdom did not disappoint even for a week one preseason game by filling the stand and making noise for the red and gold. The Kansas City Chiefs ultimately reigned supreme against the Bengals.

The first string offense did nothing less than what we expected. They drove down the field on their opening drive and right into the end zone. Patrick Mahomes and the offense looked as if they kept right in stride with those plays carrying over from last season.

The defense, on the other hand, is still looking to find a new identity that may not come until a few more weeks down the road. They had both positives and negatives to build off of.

It isn’t a problem that can be solved overnight and will take time for this new unit to build trust and chemistry together before they really start clicking, but we are only scratching the service of what this defense can become.

With new faces coming on both sides of the ball, we take a look at who’s trending up and who’s trending down.
