KC Chiefs: How previous MVP winners performed in following season
AARON RODGERS – MVP IN 2011
Aaron Rodgers has won two MVP titles and this is the first of his two titles that we’ll be covering. As you might remember, the Green Bay Packers lost one game in 2011 (with their lone loss coming to the Kansas City Chiefs at good ol’ Arrowhead Stadium).
Rodgers of course played a huge part in getting the Packers to that point. The Green Bay quarterback threw for 4,643 yards, 45 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 15 games that year while also rushing for over 200 yards and adding three scores with his legs.
The Packers went on to lose in the NFC Divisional Round to the Giants (who defeated the Patriots in that year’s Super Bowl), but Rodgers won his first of two MVP awards.
In 2012, Rodgers had yet another solid season, passing for 4,295 yards, 39 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Green Bay went 11-5 and lost to San Francisco in the NFC Divisional Round and despite a solid campaign by Rodgers, a running back edged him out for the award in 2012.
