PLAYERS TO WATCH IN PRESEASON WEEK 1

NUMBER 1 – DARWIN THOMPSON

Without a doubt, the player I’m most excited to watch in week one is Darwin Thompson, a sixth round pick out of Utah State.

Looking at Thompson’s stats it’s not difficult to see why Andy Reid would be interested in him. The Aggie totaled over 1,000 rushing yards while also hauling in 351 yards through the air with two receiving scores. A running back who can catch the ball is Reid’s favorite type of player.

The Chiefs running back situation scares me a bit. I’m not sold on Damien Williams and Carlos Hyde, the likely backup, is on his fourth team in three years. That’s not promising.

If Thompson comes in and tears it up in week one, he won’t be the starter moving forward, but at least I’ll feel a little bit better about the situation knowing he’ll be on the roster. Seeing how Reid utilizes Thompson should be fun to watch too, and hopefully he makes a name for himself against the Bengals.
