PLAYERS TO WATCH IN PRESEASON WEEK 1

NUMBER 5 – JUAN THORNHILL

Juan Thornhill is arguably the only drafted rookie who will have a chance to start week one. So then, why is he only number five on here? Well, the answer to that is that he honestly might not play as much in week one of the preseason as some of the other guys.

Thornhill, the Chiefs’ second pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, should hopefully win the starting safety job playing opposite Tyrann Mathieu when the Chiefs open the season in Jacksonville. He has the ability to become a true ball hog, totaling a whopping six interceptions at Virginia last year and proving throughout training camp that he’s great at forcing turnovers.

While Thornhill will be a fun player to watch throughout the preseason, don’t anticipate him playing as much as the other rookies. He was chosen in the second round for a reason and that’s because the Chiefs believe he can really shore up their secondary.

That being said, enjoy Thornhill when he’s on the field this preseason. He has the potential to be a special player.
