Crimson Tide product Trevon Diggs could be an intriguing option for the Chiefs if he’s yet to be taken in the draft.

Trevon Diggs is, and will be, an intriguing name for Chiefs draft fans to follow through the season. The younger brother of Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs, Diggs originally signed with Alabama as a receiver, switched to corner after his freshman season, and missed the second half of last season due to a foot injury. Oh, also, he tackles like a receiver.

However, in terms of athleticism and the ability to cover and make plays on the football, Diggs is at the top of the list for draft eligible corners at this point.

At 6’2″ and 200 pounds, Diggs will need to prove he’s able to be more physical, especially in the run game and show the foot injury is not something that will linger or be an issue going forward. He certainly however has the blood lines and athleticism to play at the NFL level.

If he can show the injury issue during his junior season isn’t something that will be an issue going forward and he’s developed additional comfort along the defense, Diggs would be an interesting option as a boundary corner. He could also return punts for the Chiefs and perhaps kicks.

Diggs’ draft stock at this point could land him anywhere in the first rounds of the draft.
