Fantasy Football: Top 15 Sleepers to Target in 2019

FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019
NUMBER 1 – DAVID MONTGOMERY
Man do I love me some David Montgomery. The first year runner had 1,216 rushing yards at Iowa State last year, and he also tallied 22 receptions for the Cyclones.
This production was because Montgomery has insane contact balance, and his low center of gravity makes him so hard to bring down. He only ran a 4.63 at the Combine, but improved that mark to around 4.53 at his Pro Day. What he lacks in top end speed, he more than makes up for with short burst quickness.
Another thing working for Montgomery is the departure of running back Jordan Howard to the Eagles this offseason. Tarik Cohen is still in Chicago’s backfield, but he is more of a receiving threat.
Chicago is going to want to limit Cohen’s actual carries because of his small frame. This opens up an opportunity for Montgomery to see significant work on short yardage and goal line situations.
The only thing stopping a potential Montgomery breakout is the addition of running back Mike Davis, who most recently played for the Seattle Seahawks. That may scare away some, but teams don’t often use third round draft picks on running backs they don’t plan to play.
Expect the young talented runner to take a hold of the main rushing duties for the Bears as the season wears on.
Another thing to consider is that his ADP right now sits right at #50. That puts him squarely in the sixth round of standard leagues. Montgomery has RB2 written all over him, with chance to take over as a top back as the year progresses.
Lastly, the Bears have the EASIEST schedule for running backs. This means Montgomery holds great value, and you should definitely consider him for a roster spot this fantasy football season.
