FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019

NUMBER 2 – ZAY JONES

Zay Jones may be the most intriguing payer on this entire list. His seven touchdowns last year came out of nowhere, and his 652 yards and 57 targets doubled his production from his rookie year.

This is his third year in the league, his young quarterback Josh Allen is primed to take a step forward, and the players added to the Bills offense are more compliments to Jones’ game rather than threats to his playing time. This is the perfect storm for a third year breakout for the promising receiver.

First, the Bills added Cole Beasley and John Brown in the offseason. Both players add value and upgrades for the Bills at receiver, but neither are true number one options that could eat significantly into Jones’ targets. Brown’s deep threat skill set paired with Beasley’s savvy veteran slot presence should actually take some pressure off of Jones.

Another thing to consider is the evolution of Josh Allen at quarterback. The jury is still out on if he can take his tremendous physical gifts and translate them into stellar quarterback play. That being said, even a small leap forward in year two would benefit Jones. Allen’s biggest issue is accuracy, and if he can tighten up his throws, Jones may be able to convert his 102 targets into more than 56 catches.

Jones’ ADP right now is #221. You probably don’t have to worry about anyone snatching him up before you. Josh Allen owners should take an extra look at Zay Jones. The Bills face the eighth easiest schedule for wide receivers as well.

He may not take over as your WR1 anytime soon, but he has value on your roster. If he does start blowing up, you may even be able to dangle him in a trade to receiver needy teams.
