Fantasy Football: Top 15 Sleepers to Target in 2019

FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019
NUMBER 4 – MARQISE LEE
Marqise Lee is the forgotten man in Jacksonville right now. He lost his entire 2018 season to a knee injury. Keenan Cole and Dede Westbrook are the popular picks to have breakout seasons for the Jags this year, but I look at Lee and what he was able to do when he was last on the field (with Blake Bortles at quarterback no less) and see a player with a ton of potential to make a name for himself.
Lee has appeared in 30 games over his last two healthy seasons. Only 20 of those games were as a starter, and he was able to go over 700 yards and 50 receptions in both of those seasons. He also had six touchdowns over that span, and while those numbers don’t exactly pop off the page, there is a few factors to consider when predicting a big season from Lee.
The first is that Blake Bortles is no longer with the team. Even if I am not the biggest Nick Foles believer, I do concede that Foles is going to bring some stability to the Jaguars on offense. Lee also doesn’t have much competition for touches, either.
Gone are the days of Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns roaming the Jags sidelines. The Jaguars are very thin at receiver, and at the very least, Lee will see volume. Volume is always good in fantasy. Even if inflated numbers from sheer attempts doesn’t lead to wins for the team or add up to efficient play, bare numbers is all that matters in the world of fantasy football.
Lee’s ADP is #232, and he is ranked as the 80th receiver. That means he is barely rostered. At the very least, he is a potential flex option. You also should consider that the Jaguars have the second easiest schedule for wide receivers in the upcoming season.
This is the perfect storm of a player coming off of injury, getting volume against an easy schedule that seems to be forgotten by the masses. Look for Lee to bounce back in 2019. Nine hundred yards and six touchdowns isn’t out of the realm of possibility for him, and that is worth at least a look for roster consideration.
