FANTASY FOOTBALL DEFENSES/SPECIAL TEAMS TO TARGET

Number 12 – Baltimore Ravens

2018 Fantasy Points Ranking: 5th

2018 Points Allowed Ranking: 2nd

Similar to the Seahawks, we are traditionally used to the Ravens defense ranked much higher, but they have lost some valuable pieces of the defense this offseason. Just to name a few, they will be without C.J. Mosley, Eric Weddle, Za’Darius Smith, and longtime Raven fan favorite Terrell Suggs.

The Ravens are historically a defensive-minded football team and will also be relying heavily on a run-first offense. Running the ball at a high rate helps the defense stay on the sideline longer and come onto the field fresher, which should lead to better defensive results.

Although the Ravens were fifth in D/ST fantasy points last season, with all of their losses it is hard to see them not falling at least a little in these rankings. They did add Earl Thomas who, if healthy, could be the best safety in football and they have a great defensive system in Baltimore, so a huge drop would be a little surprising.
