FANTASY FOOTBALL DEFENSES/SPECIAL TEAMS TO TARGET

Number 3 – Los Angeles Rams

2018 Fantasy Points Ranking: 2nd

2018 Points Allowed Ranking: 20th

AARON DONALD. Do you have to say anything more than that?

Donald is, at this point, the most dominant defender in the league and probably in a tight race with Patrick Mahomes as the most dominant player in the league period regardless of position.

Much like how Mahomes put the Chiefs offense on his back last season and brought them to new levels, Donald did the same with the Rams. He is a sack machine and assuredly haunts offensive lineman’s nightmares each and every week.

With Donald leading the charge and a pretty solid defense behind him, the Rams are a pretty safe bet to be a top three defense for fantasy purposes. Donald is likely going to be good for 20+ sacks, yes I said 20+ sacks. With 20.5 in 2018, it’s crazy to think about but that number could even go up a little.

Marcus Peters is also in that Rams defense and is just a few seasons removed from leading the league in interceptions. If he can return to the Marcus Peters that played in Kansas City, it would be no surprise at all to see this team finish as the number one overall fantasy defense.

This is where it is reasonable to start considering taking a defense earlier than one of your last two picks. The Rams could be a defense that pays off huge for you and if you don’t have one of the first few picks of the 14th round, you might consider taking them a round earlier if this is the defense you’re set on.
