Bad Moves: Not addressing back up tight end, the linebacker logjam

The Chiefs have no real options behind Travis Kelce at tight end. The hope every year is that no one misses time with injury, but if Kelce does, the Chiefs should just use ten personnel (four wide receivers, no tight ends) the entire time.

Obviously there is no Kelce replacement, as he is the best tight end in the league, but the only other tight end on the roster is Blake Bell. He has 30 career catches in four seasons. That is less than ideal.

When looking at the Chiefs linebacker situation, there’s a ton of potential and fascinating combinations. There are also a ton of players.

Look at this list:

Everyone outside of Attaochu has a strong case to make the team, and there is real money invested in this unit. The money more than anything is what gives me qualms, and hopefully the Chiefs can find a way to narrow this unit down a little bit in camp.
