Kansas City Chiefs: Three must win games in 2019
By Kole Berrey
The Kansas City Chiefs were an absolute force on the football field in 2018, finishing with an AFC best 12-4 record (tie breakers matter. Looking at you, Chargers).
That resulted in the team hosting the conference title game for the first time since the Stone Age. There is a ton of excitement swirling around this squad right now, and early odds-makers have the Chiefs among the favorites to take home the Lombardi Trophy next season. Still, the games need to be played, and the Kansas City Chiefs have quite a few interesting match-ups ahead of them this season.
Taking a look at the schedule, it’s easy to notice that the Chiefs play a variety of different opponents with different styles. There are a lot of good football teams there, too.
Mahomes vs Rodgers promises to be a battle of generational quarterbacks, and Kansas City at Chicago in Week 16 game promises to be a clash of two teams with drastically different styles; one high octane offense vs an old school bruiser of a defense.
This list isn’t titled “Most Interesting Games” though. There are a few games the Chiefs need to win next year, mostly to help decide seeding and playoff match-ups. I didn’t include any NFC teams on this list, because those games just don’t mean as much in the grand scheme of things.
Okay, time to dive in.
