Kansas City Chiefs: Recap from first weekend of training camp

Anyone who follows Chris Jones on social media may have already been able to come to this conclusion, but seeing him in person really highlighted the changes Jones has made during this offseason. Jones is noticeably thinner and could easily blend in with the defensive ends.

Jones no longer looks like a typical defensive tackle, but in a good way. Jones’ new body could allow him to be quicker on the field, which could give him much more versatility. With the way Jones reported at camp and the way Breeland Speaks reported earlier in the offseason a lot of people have been wondering if position changes are coming.

As of the first weekend of camp, there are no signs of a complete position change for either of the two. What this could mean however is that Coach Spagnuolo could have a new and improved Chris Jones with the versatility to play anywhere along the defensive line.

There was not a lot of exciting plays to be seen yet with Jones, or any of the defensive line, like there was with the wide receivers and defensive backs, but just seeing his new physique as he worked through drills was enough to stir up some excitement.

It was nice enough to see him there and not holding out period, but him showing up and looking incredible physically was just the icing on the cake. And again, shout out to all the fans who showed up and let Chris Jones know how much we appreciated him being there.
