Kansas City Chiefs: Recap from first weekend of training camp

The Kansas City Chiefs opened up their 2019 Training camp to the public on Saturday. Fans packed the parking lots and flooded the gates at a record rate this year.

Kansas City Chiefs training camp was visibly more packed this season than it was in past seasons, but this should be expected coming off of a near Super Bowl appearance with the first-ever MVP in franchise history. You could feel the excitement in the crowd this year.

From the excitement of seeing old faces like Tyreek Hill and Chris Jones return from an offseason away from the team to the excitement of seeing new faces like Tyrann Mathieu and Frank Clark the fans really showed their support this weekend. This isn’t even mentioning the one player that fans were most eager to sheer for: Patrick Mahomes.

There is a lot to be excited about this year and the fans definitely showed it at weekend one of Chiefs Training Camp. According to BJ Kissel, on Saturday the record attendance was broken and on Sunday the two-day record was broken. So, the first and most obvious observation from the opening weekend of camp is that the excitement for this team is in fact at an all-time high.
