Group 3: Tight Ends

Starter: Travis Kelce

Projected Stat Line: 90 receptions, 1,139 yards, 8 touchdowns

You won’t find a bigger Kelce fan than me. This guy is an absolute monster on the field and that trend will continue. The statistical dropoff for Kelce is slight, which is to be expected with all of the weapons the Chiefs are surrounding him with.

Still, Kelce is the only real tight end on the roster right now, so volume alone will be on his side. Factor in his immense talent, and there’s a recipe for another dominant season.

To get Kelce’s numbers, I took his averages from last year when Sammy Watkins was healthy. The drop off from his actual year-end averages was minimal. Still, I have Kelce slighlty regressing in every category. That is a good thing.

Monitoring Kelce’s workload is smart, as he is a master chess piece on the board when other teams are game planning for the Chiefs. Zeus is a match-up nightmare, and limiting his targets, even by a little, will help protect the resident old timer on the offense.

The dude is 29 and he is the old man. Let that sink in.
