CHIEFS WHO NEED STRONG TRAINING CAMP – XAVIER WILLIAMS

Rounding out my three roster bubble candidates is the Kansas City native himself, Xavier Williams.

Now in his second season with the Chiefs, Williams has been living out a dream playing for his hometown team. Starting his career in Arizona as an undrafted free agent, he has been an overlooked player and may once again be overshadowed by more athletic players looking to impress this new coaching staff.

Williams sits in a talented group of defensive linemen led by Chiefs return big man Chris “Stonecold” Jones. Jones is without a doubt going to be on the team this season depending on a contract hold out.

Other players who could be forcing Williams out the door could be rookie Khalen Saunders who will have Chiefs fans falling in love with him and become a new fan favorite with his very outgoing personality. Saunders is a viral video goer with his back flip during Senior Bowl practices.

Along with rookie Saunders is second year player Derrick Nnadi, who is a mountain of a man and looks to continue to build off his rookie campaign. It will also be interesting to see how the new defensive scheme works into these guys getting playing time and moving around the line of scrimmage.

With guys like Breeland Speaks, Tanoh Kpassagnon, Emmanuel Ogbah, Alex Okafor, among others getting thrown into this front, snaps will be limited for some which may force Williams out of the picture.
