Training camp is right around the corner for the Kansas City Chiefs. The expectations are high for our Chiefs this year and training camp will be the first glimpse fans get of the 2019 squad.
Which three members of the KC Chiefs need to have an incredible training camp to ensure they make the 53-man roster come the end of summer? Let’s take a look.
CHIEFS WHO NEED STRONG TRAINING CAMP – GEHRIG DIETER

The former Crimson Tide product is now entering his third season with the Chiefs and is looking to crack final 53-man roster cut. Gehrig Dieter is a fan favorite and an apparent close friend to Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which has been plastered all over social media basically since his arrival to the team and the city.
Over his first couple of seasons in KC, Dieter has been a practice squad guy until finally making his NFL debut in the 2018 season. In week 17 against the Oakland Raiders, Dieter caught a quick slant across the middle for 22 yards on a pass from backup quarterback Chad Henne.
Dieter has overcome many obstacles in his early career from going undrafted to falling short of a final spot on the team. Most fans will remember him from the infamous “muffed punt” by Julian Edelman in the 2018 AFC Championship game. Dieter was the first one on the scene when the ball got past Edelman, and scooped it up and ran it in for six only to have it called back due to inconclusive evidence.
With the plethora of new faces on this Chiefs team, a large amount has been added to the wide receiver core to bolster the competition to look for talent to fill in roles at the fourth and fifth spot. With the first three spots on the roster all but solidified by Sammy Watkins, Tyreek Hill (Pending current status), and Demarcus Robinson, Dieter will be competing with a solid group of other players.
A few to be named are: Chiefs first pick in the 2019 draft speedster Mecole Hardman , the 100K man in Jamal Custis, and my personal favorite Byron Pringle, who is coming off of an injury. These are just a few of the names among many others looking to find their role in this high-powered offense.
Will Gehrig Dieter make his presence known in training camp and earn a spot on the roster?
