Four running backs Kansas City Chiefs must stop in 2019

Week 10 – Derrick Henry
The Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry is the definition of a ground-and-pound type of running back. The former Alabama back stands at 6’3″ tall and weighs in at 247 pounds. Running backs of that size usually seem to “carry a little extra”, but Henry looks more like a bodybuilder.
Since being drafted by the Titans in the second round of the 2016 draft, Henry has steadily improved in each of the last three seasons. In 2018, he eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the first time on 215 attempts. Add in 12 rushing touchdowns with the nearly five yards per carry and it’s easy to call 2018 a success for him.
Chiefs fans will probably remember and wish to forget meeting the Titans in the Wild Card round of the 2017 NFL playoffs. In that game, the Titans basically used Henry as a battering ram to force the Chiefs’ defense into submission. His 6.8 yards per carry in that game essentially kept the ball away from Kansas City late in the game and gave the Titans a stunning playoff victory at Arrowhead Stadium.
The week ten game this year will be played in front of the Titans’ home crowd and will be the first time the two teams have met since January of 2018 (the aforementioned Wild Card game).
With a reloaded defense and a brand new swagger, the Chiefs will hopefully be up to the task of making that bad playoff memory go away. The best solution for Kansas City here is the put a lot of points on the board and force the Titans to put the ball in the air and out of Henry’s hands.
