MOST DISAPPOINTING ROYALS

NUMBER 1 – BRAD KELLER

Some might not consider Brad Keller a disappointment, but a 4.47 ERA isn’t exactly good, now is it? Keller surprised the hell out of all of us last year as a rookie, finishing the season with a 3.08 ERA in 140.1 innings.

When Keller got the nod to be the Opening Day starter (mostly due to Danny Duffy‘s injury), fans were hoping this was only the beginning of Keller being linked as the ace of the staff. Instead, he’s been pretty hit and miss.

Keller, as mentioned above, has a 4.47 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 19 starts this season. He’s thrown 110.2 innings, which is obviously a positive, proving he’s able to eat innings and go deep in the ballgame.

Brad Keller is only 23 years old (he’ll turn 24 later this month), so there’s obviously tons of time for him to improve and learn from his mistakes. As far as disappointments go this year, however, he tops the list for the Kansas City Royals.
