MOST DISAPPOINTING ROYALS

NUMBER 3 – JORGE LOPEZ

This could fall into the same category as Jakob Junis as far as “What did he do to make you think he wouldn’t be a disappointment?”, but Jorge Lopez has been pretty damn disappointing.

Once a starter in the Royals rotation, Lopez underwhelmed and then some. He was removed from the rotation at the end of May and hasn’t done much better as a reliever. He’s currently posting a 6.62 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and a 1-7 record. Not very good.

Lopez was brought in from Milwaukee last year in a trade and he has not been what Royals fans were hoping for. His 6.35 ERA from 2018 didn’t inspire confidence, but there were times when he looked REALLY good and him being a part of the future rotation was an exciting thought.

That hasn’t been the case.

Some might not have high expectations for Jorge Lopez, but considering the Royals traded for him in hopes that he’d be able to hold his own as a starter, he’s easily been one of the biggest disappointments so far this season.
