ROOKIES WHO CAN CONTRIBUTE IN 2019

NUMBER 5 – MARK FIELDS

The KC Chiefs didn’t address the cornerback position until the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and that pick was spent on Rashad Fenton out of South Carolina. Fenton was an odd selection, but the Chiefs might have gotten the steal of the undrafted free agents with Mark Fields out of Clemson.

Fields certainly won’t be a starter, barring injuries, but the Clemson corner should be able to be a reliable backup on the depth chart. As of now, he’d likely be Kendall Fuller‘s backup while Bashaud Breeland and Charvarius Ward take the other two starting spots.

Fields didn’t play as much as some of the other key contributors while at Clemson, but he played well in the National Championship game and that’s saying something. Being that productive in the brightest of lights shows that he can ball.

While Fields won’t be a starting corner to start the year, he should be able to come in and make plays for the Chiefs during his rookie season.
