POTENTIAL TRAP GAMES FOR MIZZOU FOOTBALL IN 2019

NUMBER 3 – TROY

People will probably roll their eyes at this one, but Troy is not a team to take lightly (just ask Nebraska and LSU fans). Missouri fans should know this all too well, as their beloved Tigers fell to Troy during the 2004 season by a score of 24-14.

In other words, the Trojans might hail from the lesser known Sun Belt Conference, but they’ve proven they’re not afraid of Power-5 schools whatsoever. It’s for this reason that they make my list of potential trap games for Mizzou in 2019.

Troy had an impressive season in 2018, going 10-3 on the year under Neal Brown, who wound up taking the job at West Virginia at season’s end. Even with a new coach, the Trojans have long showed that they’re a force to be reckoned with despite the “small school” status.

More than likely, MU will roll the Trojans at Faurot Field on October 5th, but this is probably one non-conference game that Tiger fans won’t feel super confident about the week of.
