The hype is real for the KC Chiefs in 2019 because of their quarterback. The only thing that could really derail their Super Bowl aspirations are injuries. Other than Patrick Mahomes, who else CAN’T get hurt in 2019?
Kansas City Chiefs fans feel EXTREMELY confident that this could be the year the team finally wins a Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes is returning from an MVP season that saw him throw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. He was sensational.
Along with Mahomes, however, the offense was as explosive as it ever had been in Kansas City. In order for the Chiefs to be a Super Bowl caliber team in 2019, their offensive playmakers can’t have any setbacks whatsoever. They also have to stay healthy.
That’s where this article takes us: The players, sans Mahomes, who can’t get hurt if the Kansas City Chiefs want to hoist the Lombardi Trophy come February. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at those players.
MITCHELL SCHWARTZ
Some might roll their eyes at me listing an offensive tackle, but we’ve seen how a bad offensive line can ruin a team’s season. For one, it makes it easier to get to the quarterback, and that opens up more of a chance for the quarterback to get injured. Nobody wants to see that.
Mitchell Schwartz is one of a kind at the right tackle spot, so much that he recently received an extension for his efforts. He hasn’t missed a start in his entire seven-year career.
Hopefully Schwartz’s durability continues in 2019 because this team is going to need him. The offensive line gelled well in 2018, but Schwartz played a huge role in that. If he goes down, the right side will be a lot more vulnerable and that means Patrick Mahomes could take more hits than fans would like to see.
