The Kansas City Chiefs managed to come away from the draft with a pretty nice group of players despite not having a first round pick. After the draft, the Chiefs added even more excitement with some excellent undrafted free agent signings.

Most of the excitement surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs‘ undrafted free agents are coming from guys like Gary Johnson, Mark Fields, and Cody Thompson. There is also a fair amount of hype going around about John Lovett, Jamal Custis, and James Williams.

The guys listed above do deserve the excitement that they have surrounding them and we could easily see four or five of them make the 53-man roster, so don’t take this article as discouraging the hype around these guys. There are three other UDFAs flying under the radar to this point that are deserving of some hype of their own as well.

These guys are Tim Ward, Jalin Burrell, or Felton Davis. Nobody is talking about these guys and they all are extremely talented.

It’s hard to blame fans for not being really hyped on these guys at the moment though since Ward is injured and will likely miss the entire 2019 NFL season, Burrell went to a small school, and Davis was injured last season at Michigan State, but hopefully, this article can stir some much-deserved excitement about these guys.

First, let’s talk about the Defensive End from Old Dominion, Tim Ward and what he could mean to the Chiefs in the future. He may not be available next season, but there’s nothing wrong with going ahead and getting excited about him and his potential as a future Chief.
