INTRIGUING DRAFT PICKS – ADAM LUKAS, RHP (EVANSVILLE)

Jumping ahead to the 12th round, the Royals selected Adam Lukas, a right-handed pitcher out of Evansville. It’s no secret the Royals love drafting college pitchers these days and it’s not hard to see why they liked Lukas.

Here is a kid who can throw 100-mph, but hasn’t quite figured out his command yet, meaning he’ll definitely be a project. He did pitch at a smaller school, which is also a reason not to jump for joy, but there’s potential with Lukas.

Marcus Meade of Royals Farm Report wrote on Lukas,

"Lukas is a project reliever, but he’s got velocity, which is as good a place to start as any for a relief prospect."

We’ve all seen how bad the Royals bullpen has been the last few years, so getting even project relievers right now would make Royals fans excited.

Hopefully Adam Lukas can figure things out on a minor league mound and eventually work his way into the KC Royals bullpen. He’d be a welcomed addition with that fastball.
