The 2019 MLB Draft has come and gone and the Kansas City Royals added 41 new names to their roster. Who are the most intriguing?

The MLB Draft is much different than any other sports draft. For one, there’s a whopping 40 rounds and over 1,000 guys could hear their name called. That’s the biggest difference.

It’s also interesting because players can be drafted out of high school or out of college. The Kansas City Royals mostly fixated on adding collegiate talent, but they did add a few high schoolers. Yes, only a few.

Per Matthew Lamar of Royals Review, out of the 41 players the Royals drafted this week, only six of them are in high school. That’s astonishing and clearly the organization has taken a shine to drafting college prospects. We’ll see how that strategy works out for them in the coming years, I guess.

With the draft over with, let’s take a look at some of the most intriguing picks by the KC Royals in the 2019 MLB Draft. You won’t see the second overall pick Bobby Witt Jr. on this list because everyone was expecting that to happen and at this point, know a decent amount about his skills on the diamond.

This post is to look at some of the later round selections and discuss if they could potentially bring anything to the table in Kansas City. Let’s take a gander, shall we?
